THIS IS WHY MATURE SKIN REACTS MORE SLOWLY TO SKINCARE…
Recent studies analyzing skin aging have found that formation of wrinkles, together with dryness of the skin and deterioration of the skin composition are a result of a combination of phenomena that come together: decreased formation of skin fibers, thinning of skin layers, and oxidative stress on the skin, which might be caused by external factors such as UV radiation.
When all of these phenomena come together, they lead to a series of effects on the skin, which are experienced at various degrees. Studies have shown that during skin aging one of the main problems is less hydration of the epidermis. The outer layer of the epidermis, the stratum corneum, regenerates twice more slowly during aging when compared to younger skin. It becomes thicker and therefore significantly less permeable. Even with continuous use of skincare products, with age skin becomes less responsive and does not show fast and effective changes following treatment.
How can we improve skin responsiveness and permeability?
